Newborn Session Information

I try to use natural light if available for newborn sessions.

Babies don’t always come on time so I allow leeway in my bookings to accommodate late arrivals or premature babies.

It is best to photograph newborns between 5-15 days for the cute and curly poses.

Don’t worry my sessions are relaxed and informal, there is plenty of time to feed baby and hopefully you will be able to relax while I do the all the work.

I usually have a session planned out but babies are all very different and if a baby is not comfortable going into a particular pose, I will alter my session to suit.

I recommend that you bring your baby at a time that suits them best, hopefully they will have been awake prior to the session and fed just before you arrive, if not you can feed here, then baby should be very sleepy and happy, feeding will usually happen throughout the session to keep the baby sleepy.  So bring extra milk, dummy and anything else you think might help to pacify.

I have the room very warm to help keep baby comfortable and sleepy, so wear layers so you can keep cool.

Please try to limit the amount of relatives attending, immediate family of the baby is expected of course but added friends and extended family can be a bit chaotic and it doesn’t help with the keeping the newborn sleepy.

Booking

Please book early to avoid disappointment.

If your baby has already arrived and you would like a session please do get in touch. I will always try to fit you in and there is no time limit on baby sessions, the 5-15 day is a recommendation for the curly poses, after this time your baby is used to stretching and won’t be quite as sleepy but photographs can still be taken.
