Newborn Photo Shoot

Sorry this is my first blog post in ages, I have neglected my website a little bit recently with quite a lot of demands on my time and what with facebook and instagram this has been taking a back seat. I keep reading that a blog is really important for SEO etc so I now make a resolution to keep it up to date.

These are a few pictures from my last session with Holly.  Her mum got in touch after she’d had an unsatisfactory photo shoot elsewhere, Holly was 13 days old at the time of this shoot and her mum was a bit worried that she had missed the vital time usually recommended to photograph newborns which is between 5 days and 15 days, why this time frame?  Their skin needs time to get used to the outside environment and this usually takes about 5 days, also if they have had a difficult birth they can be a little bit bruised and sometimes their heads can be sensitive due to use of forceps etc.  At this time they are still very bendy and naturally retain the womb pose shape which is great for photographers to capture.  This doesn’t mean they can’t be photographed after this time it just means they are less likely to be comfortable in those poses and are less likely to be sleepy.

I got to try out one of my new props the little cream bunny and also a new headband which I made myself oh and a new super stretchy smooth cream backdrop which I love.
